Fourth Semester SECs for BSc students

Drug designing helps us to understand the history as well as various processes followed for finding the correct drug target. Identification of drug target and its validation plays a vital role in drug discovery. The use of structural biology and bioinformatics helps us for 3D prediction and modeling which is helped during the docking producer. Structure based drug design and ligand based drug design helps us in this process of docking and screening various samples before formulation. The strategies of drug designing like lead generation, preparation, identification, and optimization helps us in the screening of lead molecules and for pharmacogenomics.

This course is aimed at introducing the concepts related to Python programming language. This course will teach the advanced topics Python language which will allow the students to develop advanced GUI based Python programs.

Molecular breeding is the application of molecular biology tools, often in plant breeding. In a broad sense, molecular breeding can be defined as the use of genetic manipulation performed at the level of DNA to improve traits of interest in plants and animals, and it may also include genetic engineering or gene manipulation, molecular marker-assisted selection, and genomic selection. Molecular breeding implies molecular marker-assisted breeding (MAB) and is defined as the application of molecular biotechnologies, specifically molecular markers, in combination with linkage maps and genomics, to alter and improve plant traits on the basis of genotypic assays.
