First Semester

Objective of Course

The main objective is to make students attain knowledge on types, structures and functions of fundamental biomolecules and their crucial role in biological system.

  • This Course includes an interdisciplinary core topic which encourages students to explore the social, aesthetic, ethical, scientific, and technical aspects of environmental issues that allow students to approach these questions with more focused knowledge and methodological tools as a community-engaged research course.

Cell Biology and Genetics provides us the introduction to the field of cell and basics of understanding the structure, functions, role of each organelle/ parts, present in the different organisms. It provides us the basics of Genetics starting with the Mendel’s concept and laws and their derivation from these concepts which would help them to understand the concepts of molecular biology and other subjects related to Genetics. This provides us an idea regarding the Chromosomes and their features with various concepts and application of Genetics and biostatistics in Genetics to understand the evolution of this field

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This course is designed to have an understanding of the physico-chemical properties of organic and inorganic compounds.
