Course Summary

This course is continuation of Business Statistics- I.  Statistics is collection, analyzing and interpreting data. Statistics has wide range of applications in different fields, say Industry or Commerce etc., the course introduces the concept of regression, index numbers, time series, probability and distributions.


This course is designed to provide you fundamental techniques used for predictive analytics: regression, classification, clustering, optimization, and simulation. Beginning with basic models for revealing and establishing relationships and apply increasingly sophisticated modeling techniques for practical data analysis, as well as commonly encountered problems that can determine the fit and usefulness for prediction of models, and apply them to typical business problems. To perform basic forecasting using time-based data to predict future values from a model and also to calculate scenarios based on distance and space.


Income Tax is 5 credit course. Provisions relating to computation of total income and tax liability of an individual are covered and computation of taxable income under 5 heads of income namely Salaries, house property, Business or Profession, Capital gains and Other sources are covered in the Syllabus.
