SECTION II: The Course
The course addresses the English language needs of the students at the undergraduate level even as it acknowledges their critical thinking capabilities. The text is prepared in alignment with the CBCS English curriculum with an objective to enable youngsters to hone English language skills for the professional world. It includes four genres-, prose, poetry, vocabulary and grammar- for the contextual language learning. The reading passages also provide further context familiarizing learners with various aspects of language and soft skills components and providing value orientation to channel the youngsters’ attitude and actions towards positive direction.
Course Description
The syllabus has been designed to develop linguistic and communicative competence of the Under-graduate students.
In the classes the focus is on the skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking divided under the four categories of Prose, Poetry, Vocabulary and Grammar For this, the teacher uses the text /selected paragraphs pedagogy.
The teachers also ask comprehension questions to stimulate discussion and based on the discussions the students are made to write short paragraphs /essays and participate in group discussions.
Course Outcomes:
The students will be able to:
- Use new concepts, vocabulary, with appropriate grammar and structure
- Become more empathetic channelizing their ideas towards positive attitude and actions
- Articulate with greater fluency while speaking and writing
- Understand the relations between words and ideas
- Develop interest in stories infused with morals and understand things that are beyond our own immediate experience)
- Engaging with simple and complex writings.
- Be empathetic to others, while learning and understanding how times, cultural intentions and literary genres differ from one another.
- Grasp the skills and theories of interpretation, with language and representation.
- Listen, practice and hone English language skills to a great extent.

Course Description: Cost Control and Management Accounting is 5 credit course with 65 session scheduled for semester 6
(Total Marks : 100; External Exam-80 marks & Internal Exam- 15 Marks & Assignment -5 Marks)
Course Objective: To be acquaint with Cost Control techniques, Managerial Accounting decision making techniques and reporting methods.

Course Description | Commerce Lab provides practical exposure of the processes and procedures followed by organizations in conducting commercial practices. The lab provides practical orientation to students by linking the subject syllabi with practical training in the lab. | |||||||
