Course Description:

Leadership and Life skills education is designed to facilitate the practice and reinforcement of psychological skills which in turn lead to promotion of personal and social development. It enables the students to think abstractly and approach problems from multiple angles to find practical solutions, and the skill to communicate clearly and effectively. Life skills provide students with important tools for development, such as independent thinking, how to socialize and make new friends, and how to take action in situations where their parents or teachers may not be around to help or intervene which are just as important as technical knowledge in a particular field or an academic subject.

Teaching of life skills is crucial to enable the students to cope up with college and post college environment, handle stress better, avoid conflicts as well as be more employable. 


Course Outcomes:

The students will be able to:

CO 1:  Promote self awareness and personal development.

CO 2:  Discover one’s strengths and learn how to use those attributes which translate self-knowledge into leadership acumen and in turn contributes to personal and professional success. 

CO 3: Identify, understand, and apply contemporary theories of leadership to a wide range of situations and interactions.

CO 4: Encourage students to make decisions that promote safe, healthy behaviors and reduce risk.

CO 5: Help students become more assertive, communicate effectively with others by developing good listening skills.

CO 6: Help students handle their personal life better by imparting knowledge on managing emotions, situations and relationships.
