The Bridge Course for Mass Communication and Journalism, English Literature, and Psychology is designed to provide first-year undergraduate students with a strong academic foundation and facilitate a smooth transition from school to higher education. The course introduces students to the core concepts, scope, and interdisciplinary nature of the three disciplines while equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required for successful undergraduate learning.
The programme familiarizes students with the fundamentals of communication and media, the appreciation of literature and language, and the basic principles of psychology and human behaviour. It also focuses on developing critical thinking, effective communication, analytical reasoning, creativity, and emotional intelligence through interactive learning experiences, discussions, case studies, and practical activities.
By integrating perspectives from media, literature, and psychology, the course enables students to understand how communication, language, and human behaviour influence individuals and society. It also promotes media and information literacy, ethical awareness, empathy, and problem-solving skills, preparing students to engage confidently with academic coursework and contemporary societal issues.
