Semester 2 of BCom (Computer Applications) 2024-27 Batch

Financial Accounting-II is a Discipline Specific Course of 5 Credits with 65 Sessions. The objective of the course is to appraise the students about the application of basic accounting knowledge in certain special business activities and to impart the skill needed for preparation of final accounts of such special business activities.

Environmental studies (EVS or EVST) is a multidisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. Environmental studies connects principles from the physical sciences, commerce/economics, the humanities and social sciences to address complex contemporary environmental issues. It is a broad field of study that includes the natural environment, the built environment, and the relationship between them.

This course focuses on the fundamentals of programming languages and software development. It is designed as a series of lectures and practical exercises to teach C and C++ programming languages, covering their syntax, grammar, and lexical rules. The course emphasizes developing the skills required to write programs of moderate complexity using these languages to solve specific tasks effectively.

This course offers an in-depth study of essential business laws, focusing on contracts, sales, consumer rights, intellectual property, corporate governance, and company winding-up procedures. It covers the Indian Contract Act, the Sale of Goods Act, and the Consumer Protection Act, emphasizing legal principles, rights, and remedies. Students will also explore intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights, and their application in business. Corporate management topics include director roles, corporate social responsibility, and effective meeting practices. The course concludes with the legal processes of company winding-up and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, preparing learners to navigate complex legal scenarios in business.

Course Summary

The course addresses the English language needs of the students at the undergraduate level. The focus will be on five categories: Prose, Poetry, Vocabulary, Soft Skills, and Grammar.  In addition to these, the last two units focus on developing the speaking skills of students. Overall, the course will focus on the critical thinking faculties of the students concerning academic, linguistic, political, literary, and ethical concepts.
