Course Overview:
This course provides a clear understanding of Organization Development
(OD)—a planned approach to improving how organizations work and grow.
Students will learn how to manage change using tools and strategies based on
behavioral science. The course covers the basics of OD, including its meaning,
values, and evolution. It introduces important models like Kurt Lewin’s and
Burke–Litwin’s, focusing on systems thinking, teamwork, and participation.
Students will explore the OD process, including change models and practical
tools like the Six-Box Model. They will learn how to design, plan, and manage
OD programs effectively. The course also teaches various intervention
techniques, such as coaching, counseling, and team building. In the final part,
students will see how OD is used in real organizations through topics like
self-managed teams, quality circles, and high-performance systems.
