Sem 3 of B.Com (Business Analytics)

Advance accounting is 5 credit course which deals with preparation of Final Accounts of Partnership Firm and also making necessary changes in financial statements at the time of admission, retirement, death and dissolution of a partnership firm and preparation Company Final Accounts as per Schedule III of the Companies Act, 2013. Accounting treatment on issue of share and debenture, Valuation of Goodwill and Shares are also covered in the syllabus.


Course Summary

The course addresses the English language needs of the students at the undergraduate level. The focus will be upon four categories: Prose, Poetry, Vocabulary, and Grammar.  In addition to these, the last two units focus on developing the writing skills of students by including essay writing and report writing. The content of the text raises questions of how English is used in India versus how it ought to be used and thus engaging the debates about a “standard English” and the need of adapting English to the local cadence and culture of India. Similarly, the British and American variations of the language are included to orient the students to broaden their view of English as an international language. Overall the course will focus upon the critical thinking faculties of the students concerning academic, linguistic, political, literary, and ethical concepts.


This course provides a comprehensive introduction to statistics, covering its origin, definitions, and scope, along with methods for planning statistical investigations and collecting data through census and sampling. Students will learn to analyze data using measures of central tendency and dispersion, interpret graphical representations like histograms and scatter diagrams, and understand concepts such as correlation and its applications. The course aims to equip students with essential statistical skills applicable across various disciplines.


Course Summary

This course teaches the basics of Data Analytics Modelling by introducing students to identifying the correct data that is important for decision making in business and how to clean, extract, transform and load the data for performing Analysis. It also teaches the concepts related to data warehousing and SQL.
