Course Objectives:
The Programme aims to
1. Sharpen their LSRW skills.
2. Prepare them to attend gateway exams for higher education.
4. Build self-assurance and the requisite attitude to be effective players at their learning and work place.
Evaluation:
Listening Skills: There are four tasks given (2 conversations and 2 monologues). Students will be tested on 20 questions on the tasks given. (20 marks)
Reading Skills: There are four reading tasks given (from simple to complex). Texts range from the descriptive and factual to the discursive and analytical. Students are tested on 20 questions asked related to the tasks. (20 marks)
Writing Skills: There are two tasks given. Students are required to write at least 150 words for Task 1 (information transfer) and at least 250 words (essay) for Task 2. (20 marks)
Speaking Skills: There are 3 parts for assessment. Part 1, Introduction and interview; Part 2, Individual long turn; Part 3, Two-way discussion. 20 marks)
Grand total: 100 marks
Writing Assignment: 20 marks
Internal assessment: 20 marks
Final Assessment: 60 marks

90-100% O
80-89% A
70-79% B
60-69% C
50-59% D
Expected Outcomes:
The participants will be able to:
1. Prepare for gateway exams such as IELTS.
2. Utilize the acquired skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to communicate effectively
3. Gain an understanding of global dynamics and improve performance.
